Rs. 22,920 cr. to be Released by Rural Banks for Farmers, Says Sushil Modi

The rural banks of Bihar are required to disburse Rs. 22, 920 crores to the farmers of the state during the current financial year, Bihar Deputy Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said. These include Uttar Bihar Grameen Bank, Madhya Bihar Grameen Bank, and Bihar Grameen Bank.
Modi, who held a meeting with the chairmen of the rural banks and state government officials recently said that 90% of the farmers are unable to avail the 4% interest subsidy that’s available to them and instead pay at a rate of 11-12%. He also made an appeal to the farmers to repay their loans on time.
