Salaries in the Private Sector: This Was the Worst Year in Decade

According to the data provided by CMIE, this year, the salary increments offered to professionals were the lowest in the past 10 years. This is believed to be on the account of sales numbers dropping everywhere.

Apart from the poor salary growth, the employment situation in the country isn’t exactly good either. The data shared by the Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) 2017-18 found that the unemployment rate in India is 6.1% which is the highest for male workers since 1977-78 and for women since 1983.
