“Stay Safer” Feature Launched by Google Maps in India

An India-first “Stay Safer” feature has been introduced by Google Maps that can alert the users traveling in auto-rickshaws and taxis when their vehicle diverts from the route. It also allows them to share the live status of their location with friends and family when traveling.

Google Maps said that the users will be able to use the new feature will the updated version of the app on Android phones. Product manager Amanda Bishop said that the company looks to provide more such experiences in the country.
