As TDS Revenue Shows Poor Growth, CBDT Calls for Urgent Steps

In light of the sluggish TDS revenue growth that the Income Tax department is witnessing lately, the CBDT has asked it to take “urgent” steps to increase the funds.
The chairman of CBDT, Sushil Chandra, has issued a directive to all the IT department field offices to take action and report within a month. He issued a letter in which he expressed his “disappointment” and brought attention to the fact that some ranges in the country reported single-digit or even negative figures recently.
