UAE to Become the First Country in the Middle East to Launch RuPay Card

According to a new media report, United Arab Emirates (UAE) will soon become the first Middle East country to roll out the RuPay Card. The card will be launched today during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the country.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri said that an MoU to establish a technology interface between the payment platforms in the UAE and India will be exchanged between the former’s Mercury Payments Services and latter’s National Payments Corporation of India. It will make it possible to use RuPay cards at PoS terminals in the UAE, he said.
