Uber will allow riders and drivers in India to record the audio of their trips

Uber is bringing video and audio recordings for risers and drivers to increase the safety of travel.

This move is taken for the safety concerns of riders due to rising sexual assaults, physical assault and robbery carried out during the ride.

But this has also raised questions in regards to privacy concerns as dashboard cameras will installed in the cabs.
Keeping this in mind the CEO of Uber, Dara Khosrowshahi said,” “None of this is simple or easy, but we’ll continue to invest, test and learn to improve safety on our platform while respecting privacy,”

Uber also plans to roll out two more safety features which are an intervention from Uber when there is an unplanned stop in a ride and a four-digit authentication code to ensure the passenger is getting in the right car.

These features were before available in the US but in India, the future has started rolling out to users.
