UIDAI to Rollout Facial Recognition feature for Aadhaar in July

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the entity behind the regulation and management of Aadhaar, said that in a bid to help the individuals that are facing troubles in the authentication of their biometrics, it will roll out a face recognition feature in addition to the current biometric authentication methods by July 1, 2018.

UIDAI said that the decision for the facility has been made in light of the problems faced by the individuals regarding the biometric authentication of their Aadhaar due to worn out fingerprints, old age, etc.
