Unemployment Rate Clocks at 6.1%, Highest in Four Decades

As per the first periodic labor force survey (PLFS) that was released by the re-elected National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the unemployment rate was 6.1% in FY18 which is the highest in the past 45 years.

It’s worth noting that the National Statistical Commission (NSC) which monitors India’s statistics approved the PLFS report in December last year. However, the government withheld the report and has released the same only now.
