With 2G Network on the Verge of Termination, Banks Must Upgrade their PoS Terminals, Says Telecom Dept

This Friday, a senior official of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) said that as the 2G spectrum and related services are coming to an end, the banks are required to upgrade their PoS terminals to newer spectrums viz. 3G and 4G.
Amit Yadav, who is a joint secretary in the DoT said that if we fail to upgrade the PoS to newer technologies, then financial inclusion may become a challenge since the 2G network we use today may completely cease to exist in a few years in India.
