Workers to Get Assured Minimum Wage as Lok Sabha Passes Wage Code Bill

This Tuesday, the Lok Sabha passed the Wages Code Bill under which the workers in India can receive a minimum wage in the country. The Code on Wages Bill, 2019 will also address other issues like late payments to employees.
The newly introduced bill amends and merges four labour laws which are the Equal Remuneration Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Payment of Wages Act, and Minimum Wages Act. It will also redefine the meaning of wages in law books and reduce litigation and compliance cost for employers.
