4 Things to do before your Business School's Personal Interview
August 21, 2019
If you know one thing about building a successful career, then you know that education plays a huge role in that. For instance, if you want to study an MBA, then you want to enter the best business school for that. Since facing a personal interview is often one of the hardest steps for that, the following are some of the things you can plan beforehand to do well during the event:
1. Preparing to Reach on Time
The last thing you want to do in a personal interview is showing up late. Remember, your first impression could easily be the last impression. So, make sure that you arrange the required documents, iron the clothes you want to wear and plan the commute in advance so that you arrive on time.
2. Studying the Common Question
There are some questions that are asked in most of the interviews. These include the following:
- Can you please tell me about yourself?
- Why do you want to study an MBA?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Since these questions are often repeated, you can prepare the best answers for these in advance.
3. Researching About the Business School
It’s important that you learn as much as you can about the MBA institute that you are interested in. For instance, you want to learn about its history, placement history, specialization, curriculum, and faculty. You can share this information during the interview to let the interviewer know that you are thorough in your planning.
4. Mock Interviews
If you have never faced a real interview before, then it’s understandable if you are anxious. However, you can become more confident by practicing your communication skills in a few mock interviews in advance with a friend.
The personal interview is an important step in the admission process for a business school. In fact, there are many institutes that offer admission based on the interview itself. For instance, TSCFM is offering an MBA degree under a top UK university based on your performance in a personal interview.
