13 Million New Taxpayers to be Brought Under IT Ambit in FY20, Says Govt

This Monday, the parliament was informed by the government that a target of adding 1.3 crore new income tax filers has been set up for the financial year 2019-20.
Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said that there were 8.44 crore taxpayers in the assessment year 2019-20 which include those who filed ITR and those who didn’t file the same but for them, TDS was deducted during the financial year 2017-18.
