Achieving 5 tn USD Economy Possible: Pranab Mukherjee

Former president Pranab Mukherjee said that the government’s target of achieving a 5-trillion-USD economy within 5 years is viable and can be achieved with good fiscal management.
Mukherjee said that the present exchange rate must be maintained and the GDP growth needed for achieving the target must be deflated by inflation.
Last Friday, the government had introduced a slew of measures including a package to address the automobile industry, removing the higher super-rich tax on international and Indian equity investors, etc.
