Amazon’s Ground-Delivery Deal with FedEx to End Soon

Logistics giant FedEx is looking to break ties with Amazon.com at the end of the month by terminating the contract for small-package ground deliveries. The decision is linked to its previous one of not renewing its contract with the e-commerce company for US cargo delivery via its plane-based express service.

FedEx’s withdrawal of services can hurt Amazon’s but the latter is also trying to be more self-sufficient lately. This is because the e-commerce behemoth has been establishing its own delivery network that comprises trucks, planes, and vans for quite some time now and rather started undercutting delivery services providers like UPS and FedEx.
