Cost of Two-Wheelers to be Affected Most Under FAME-II, Says Crisil

Rating company Crisil said that battery-powered two-wheelers will face several challenges in the first few phases of the FAME-II scheme. It said that analyzing the product portfolio of several EV manufacturers it appears that the electric two-wheel market will be affected the most and that as many as 95% of the two-wheelers that are manufactured now won’t be eligible for incentives under the scheme.
The union government disclosed the eligibility criteria for electric cars, buses, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers for incentives under the FAME-II scheme last month. It’s based on various factors including range per charge, energy consumption efficiency, top speed, etc.
