Election Campaigns to Not be Allowed on Social Media 48 Hrs Prior to Polling
Social media platforms including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter have created a voluntary code of ethics as per which they won’t allow any kind of political campaign to run during a 48-hour period before the polling ends. This code was recently submitted to the Election Commission (EC) by the representatives.

As per an EC’s statement, the said social media platforms have “committed to process any violations reported under Section 126 of the RP (Representation of the People) Act”.
