Government will run promotional ads on social media platforms

The I&B ministry has brought out guidelines to buy advertising on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google, and other websites. The guidelines are brought to boost the government efforts to reach out audience and create awareness campaigns.

Officials said, “During this tough time, we want to create awareness amongst the citizens of India. Right know as the government is having its own social media handles, it is trying to reach out to citizens of India to create awareness amongst them and to become more visible”.

The new policy requires that any social media organization that desires marketing spends to have 25 million unique month-to-month users and to have a dashboard to purchase advertisements with “demonstrated credibility”.
