Gujarat Best State in Providing Ecosystem to Startups: DIPP

The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) recently ranked the states on various parameters regarding their support for the startup industry and this has put Gujarat on top for providing the best startup ecosystem for Indian entrepreneurs. Some of the factors that were taken into account include seed funding, startup regulations, incubation centres, etc. The department’s Secretary Ramesh Abhishek said that this practice will encourage other states to improve their own startup ecosystems.
DIPP involved 27 states and 3 UTs in the ranking exercise. Although Gujarat emerged as the top performer, it was followed by Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, and Rajasthan.
