India has seen more internet users from the rural areas amid lockdown

Rural India is getting more Internet users as compared to the urban areas during the nationwide lockdown. Internet users in rural areas have increased by 10% more than the urban areas.

Rural India has 504 million active internet users as of now. The number of active internet users in India is increased rapidly in the last two months. Accessibility to cheap mobile devices and affordable data plans has increased internet users rapidly.

An increase in female internet users (26 million) is seen more as compared to male internet users. It was 21% higher than the increase in male internet users.
