Insurance Ombudsmen Offices Headless, Policyholders Affected
As 8 major insurance ombudsmen offices still remain headless, the complaints from policyholders are piling up. The offices that are based in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Patna, Noida, Lucknow Pune, and Bhubaneswar have been headless for more than 6 months now.

Ombudsman offices for the insurance sector were set up through a notification released on November 11, 1998. These offices are meant to resolve disputes between policyholders and insurers if the former isn’t satisfied with the support provided by the latter. However, some of the most important offices have been headless for quite some time now which is causing problems for the policyholders.
