Jio offers 30 minute free talk time to soothe customers

Last week on Wednesday, Jio announced that it will start charging 6 paise per minute for voice calls to other networks.

This led to confusion and chaos amongst Jio users.

People were using Jio for its cheap data plans and free calls around the country to other networks. A Twitter feed was filled people tweeting about JIO’s change of data plans just to protect its subscriber base and how the promise was broken by Mukesh Ambani made on the launch of the first day of Jio’s to provide free calls to other networks all over the nation.

Even its rivals Airtel and Vodafone started taking a dig at Jio and soon a trending hashtag #boycott-Jio took a rise by Jio’s users.

Realizing the effect it took on customers, within 48 hours a spokesperson from Jio said that, “Customers will get free talk time of 30 minutes the first time they will recharge their phones. This one-time offer will be available for the first seven days from the date the plan was announced. “
