Rajiv Kumar to be the Next Niti Aayog Vice Chairman

Rajiv Kumar, who is a well-known economist, has been selected for the position of the Niti Aayog vice chairman that will be vacated by the current holder Arvind Panagariya who said he will leave the government think tank on August 31 and go back to Columbia University.

Kumar holds a Ph.D. from Lucknow and a DPhil in economics from Oxford and is also a senior fellow at CPR (Centre for Policy Research). He was once the Director and Chief Executive of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) and that of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) as well.
