Tata Motors to Expand Business in South Africa

Automobile leader Tata Motors said that it’s become strategically important to grow its footprint in South Africa. Company’s head of commercial vehicles, Rudrarup Maitra said that as a brand, the company aims at being in the top 3 in any segment or sub-segment that it gets involved in. He said that at present, there are only 6 manufacturing units in the African continent, although they may increase in the future.

Maitra said that southern Africa and sub-Saharan Africa has been a key for the company for the last 10-15 years. He added that the relationship with the country will only become deeper.
