Free Power Plan of Delhi to Set Govt Back by ₹500 cr

As the Delhi government is looking to increase the total power subsidy to ₹2,250 crores during the current fiscal year, the exchequer is expected to be set back by as much as ₹500 crores.

AAP which is the ruling party in Delhi has set aside around ₹1,720 crores for FY20 Budget which will be used to give 50% subsidy on electricity bills for up to 400 units per month. However, customers consuming up to 200 units in a month will get completely free electricity.
